Colour Block Your Swimwear this Summer

September 21, 2010

Colour blocking is all about making loud and proud colour combinations for a dynamic and confident look.

Beyond the gloomy grey of the Autumn season comes an unexpected rainbow of shimmering shades. Azure, cobalt, electric pink and canary yellow paint an opulent picture for Spring Summer 2010/11. The New York and London runways have been alive with a fresh and confident colour palette with scorching shades sauntering down the catwalk at Christopher Kane, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Badgley Mischka drenching the seasons most covetable pieces with citric hues. Celebs are also getting in on the act: Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted in New York last week wearing a solid coral number, while Diane Kruger is no stranger to the concept of colour blocking.

This trend need not just apply to your day and nightwear ladies, swimwear has proudly carried this phenomenon through with strong determination on the runways of Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs.
