Whimsical chiffon, beaded delights and sheer elegance were on show in Paris for Elie Saab’s 2010/11 collection.

Drawing inspiration from darker territory, Lebanese designer Elie Saab's models took to the catwalk in a series of black looks. A svelte black lace dress (bound to induce a wiggle to your walk), a structured shoulder on a little black dress – and this pretty much set the scene for the rest of the collection, which built on variations on a theme - introducing a vein-like pattern along the way on floor-sweeping looks. Some bloomed with lace and others with petals at the neckline, others – in crimson - bunched into place to keep the silhouette neat and shapely and elsewhere slate ruffles descended in tiers around waists and hips. There was some tailoring in there too, given a gothic makeover in lace and accessorised with beads and chains. Simply divine!
