Designers indulged their primal instincts far beyond fall’s basic leopard prints. Animal shapes, jungle themes, and feathered skirts proved that fashion’s animal magnetism is still going strong.
After more than five decades in the service of sophisticated, sexy, femininity, animal prints have still not yet had their final word. Filtered for Fall 2010 by a more refined style and Spring/Summer 2011 with a notable jungle influence, a new found freshness of wild leopard and monochromatic zebra prints have found their way back onto the runways.
From the heady 80s Debbie Harry days to the 90s Brit pop Spice Girl years, the new bread arrives in a modern mix of colour - pop brights and a classic palette - all bound together in an endless succession of modern silhouettes. The new animal adorned heroine is a confident feline who flaunts her sex appeal unblinkingly - stay one step ahead of the fash pack and give your wardrobe a sprinkle of animal magic this season.
