For those of us with a few extra dollars to spend this post Christmas, perhaps Louis Vuitton's new cruise range is for you!

Hollywood's hottest attended Louis Vuitton's launch of the 2010 Cruise Collection last month in New York. The highlight of the collection was a nautical themed bikini priced at a mere $1120. The designer bikini features white-and-blue stripes with red-and-white polka dot detail. Isabeli Fontana modelled for the campaign, which was shot in the Hampton's by photographer Patrick Demarchelier. A Louis Vuitton spokesman said the label's well-known craftsmanship explains the high price tag.

"The Louis Vuitton engraved metallic signature, weaves of different fabrics and refined finishing using the brand's know-how and craftsmanship make it very special," the spokesman said.

It is made of 81 per cent polyamide and 19 per cent elastane. The elastane is the secret weapon, being more resistant to body oils and perspiration than rubber.

"It has excellent elongation and elastic recovery and its ability to stretch is important, along with the flexibility, abrasion resistance and strength."

This swim set is certainly cute and sophisticated....(sigh) but most of us can only dream of getting our post Christmas bodies into this!
