The Verdict’s In: 1940s Silk Tap Shorts are super sexy

So we've moved on from the hotpants to the latest and hottest new trend in shorts: The Vintage Lingerie Tap Pant. Harpers Baazar UK recently did a fabulous feature on lingerie inspired looks as outerwear (pictured), and it seems those chiffon tap pants are making their mark this Spring/Summer. 

It seems plenty of woman just adore the idea of tap pants as a trend - being the more casual, more feminine cousin to hot pants, they're also less demanding on one's figure. The femininity of these outfits has also much to do with the prominence of nudes and pastels, and the delicate fabrics.

Traditionally, the tap short was foremost about mobility and functionality, and the 2010 versions are no different. “Shorts have the stereotype of being supershort and revealing,” says Vogue.com. “But these styles drape with a bit of volume—not to mention they’re super comfortable!” 

According to Annabel Tollman, stylist and brand ambassador for eBay’s new clotheshorse channel, fashion.ebay.com, the items ebay fashionistas will be watching “Vintage lingerie tap shorts,” Tollman said. “I want to see if I can get away with wearing them as real shorts, but suddenly everyone else is snapping them up.” Ladies, start your bidding!
