Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2010/11 kicked off today with Lisa Ho, Seventh Wonderland and Ginger Smart showcasing their new season collections.
Show starter, Lisa Ho presented a chic, polished and utterly modern vision for spring/summer 2010.Taking inspiration from the colours of nature, Ho played with a palette of blush pink, mossy green and rosy lilac - interspersing solid colour blocks with a delightful marbled digital print. And while the luxe separates (including a butter-soft bolero teamed with loose-fitting taupe pants) were exquisitely covetable, Ho's floor-sweeping gowns stole the show.
She's known for her extravagant kaleidoscopic kaftans, but designer Camilla Franks pulled out all the stops for her spring/summer 2010 show. With Michelle Jank styling the looks, the show was divided into three sections: feathered jungle birds, diamante-spangled disco divas and super-sexy snake charmers.
Fashion forward prints and Wonderful bikinis were all the go in Seventh Wonderland's show, in a a palette of steel grey, black and purple. “The vision for our Fashion week show is to create an experience and to push the boundaries of traditional swimwear,” according to designer Bonnie Coumbes.
Today's shows also include two exciting New Zealand labels: Zambesi and Stolen Girlfriends Club.
Tomorrow is another MASSIVE day with Camilla & Marc, Zimmermann, Alex Perry and Ellery taking the catwalk.
