The world's most glamorous lingerie took to the stage in New York......

Generating a level of interest and excitement that no other fashion catwalk (or fashion week) can possibly compete with, the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was the lingerie house at their best. Some of the world's most beautiful women and lingerie that ranged from the demure to the daring was all packed into one show which took place on November 19th at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York.

This year it was all about enchantment, romance and good old s-e-x...and of course fabulously and outrageously over the top creations. Designed and styled by Charlotte Stockdale and Todd Thomas - Doutzen Kroes hit the runway with film reel wings, Chanel Iman sported a blue lace V-back catsuit, Maryna Linchuk wore a Swarovski crystal skirt-and-bustier ensemble, and Marisa Miller...a $3 million Harlequin Fantasy Bra.

From the live music - provided by the Black Eyed Peas - Fergie, its only female member, who wore a black, jewelled bodysuit — was another crowd-pleaser - and New York Global Singers chorus - to the aerialists, glittery runway, glow stick-wielding mosh pit and 3-D backdrop, which changed completely for each segment; This was a larger-than-life, made-for-TV spectacle in which no expense was spared.

"It's super sexy girls in super sexy lingerie with a great band," host Heidi Klum told VOGUE.COM backstage a few hours before show time, as Miranda Kerr, Caroline Trentini, Isabeli Fontana, Alessandra Ambrosio, Sessilee Lopez, Abby Lee and Julia Stegner (to name just a few of the 30-plus models in attendance) got their hair and makeup done.  "I mean, who wants to miss that?"

All applauded heartily when Heidi took the stage, six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, in a plum bustier slip with a white chiffon skirt...(sigh) If only we could all bounce back to perfectly proportioned figures post baby!
